Events over the next few weeks

There is quite a lot going on over the next few weeks! Here is a list of the various events that will keep us all busy.

There are rehearsals at the Royal Opera House for Gloriana staring again this Friday. The first performance is on Thursday 20 June. Here is a fantastic animation the ROH has made for this important production, marking the 60th anniversary of the Queen's Coronation.

Meanwhile La Boheme continues at ENO until the end of June. And this week the Schola voices will be heard at the Guildhall as the recording for Owen Wingrave the boys made in March is employed in their production.

At 7 pm on Thursday 13 June there will be a concert in the New Hall at the Vaughan when the Schola and the School Choir trebles are joined by the Cincinnati Boychoir for a celebration of the music of Benjamin Britten.

On Sunday 16 June the Schola trebles will sing for Evensong at Eton College Chapel, alongside Eton Chapel Choir.

Tuesday 18 June sees the annual Chamber Music Competition. Around 100 boys will be competing in this very popular event which starts at 6 pm in the New Hall. The adjudicator is Lincoln Abbotts from ABRSM.

From 27-29 June the Schola are to record a new CD in Douai Abbey. The CD will be a collection of Marian music.

The Summer Concert, with performances from the Big Band, School Choir, Schola and the orchestras will be held in Addison Hall at 7 pm on Wednesday 3 July. Tickets will be available shortly from the School.

The Big Band are giving a concert in aid of the British Heart Foundation on Friday 5 July in Mortlake. The Band will also be present at the School's Summer Fete on Sunday 7 July.

On Saturday 6 July the Schola is to sing for the 6 pm Vigil Mass at Westminster Cathedral. The Schola will sing the Kodaly Miss Brevis. Here are Westminster Cathedral Choir performing the Gloria of the Mass.

The annual musical, this year The Pajama Game, is being staged from 16-18 July in the New Hall.
